Things about industrial belt anti-static

"Anti-static" is a keyword often mentioned in belt selection and application. So how does the belt resist static electricity?What is static electricity and how is it generated?How are industrial belts anti-static?

Static Electricity:

1.The concept of static electricity - charge in a stationary state (moving charge is called electric current).

2.Mode of existence - Objects are composed of atoms. Atoms are composed of positively charged protons and negatively charged electrons. When two objects come into contact, the charge is transferred. When the charge cannot be neutralized, it accumulates on the surface of the object, forming static electricity.

3.Formation - Macroscopically speaking, when object A and object B come into contact with each other, the negative charges in the atoms of object A migrate to the surface of object B due to the influence of external forces. In this process, due to the consumption of energy and the law of conservation of energy, the negative charges in the atoms of object A Negative charges accumulate on the surface of object B. This is the reason why static electricity is generated during the movement of the belt.

Two characteristics of static electricity:

1.Friction, kinetic energy, displacement, and heat transfer will cause an imbalance between the positive and negative charges of an object and produce static electricity.

2.The better the insulation of the material, the easier it is to generate static electricity.

The harm of static electricity to industrial production

1.Cause electronic equipment failure and cause electromagnetic interference

2.Breaking down precision electronic components can easily absorb dust and contaminate components, causing electronic products to fail.

3.In flammable and explosive environments, it is easy to cause explosions and fires.

4.The papermaking and printing industry causes uneven paper winding and inaccurate overprinting

5.The textile industry causes tangled flowers, broken ends, yarn knotting, etc.

Industrial belt anti-static method:

Highly conductive antistatic (such as habasit carbon curtain, EP M02-GX carding machine cotton guide apron, etc.) surface resistance is 10^3~10^5 (the actual measured surface resistance of the editor's hand is about 10^5).

Static dissipative antistatic: "Static dissipation" can be understood as a discharge process. Highly conductive antistatic can be completed within tens of nanoseconds, while electrostatic dissipation takes longer to complete the release of static electricity.If the surface resistance of the belt is >10^11, it cannot be anti-static.

In summary:

The better the insulation of the material (the greater the surface resistance), the easier it is to generate static electricity. Insulators cannot release static electricity and cannot resist static electricity.

The antistatic principle of industrial belts is: the static electricity on the surface of the belt guides the static electricity to the earth through the belt.

Not only highly conductive belts are antistatic belts! Highly conductive belts are only a type of antistatic belts. The surface resistance of 10^3~10^5 is a high conductive belt (high antistatic), and the surface resistance of 10^6~10^11 is a low conductive belt (low antistatic).
